Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Code 3 (code3dailyrun.com) is built to be as low-data as reasonably possible. This page explains exactly what is and isn't collected, in plain language.

No accounts, no sign-up

There is no login system on Code 3. You don't create an account, and we don't collect names, emails, or passwords just to play the game.

What's stored locally in your browser

Your Daily Run streak, and which Ride Along cases you've marked as reviewed, are stored using your browser's local storage (localStorage). This data stays on your device, it is never sent to or stored on our servers, and clearing your browser data will erase it.

What's sent to our servers

When you submit a guess in Daily Run or Ride Along, your guess text is sent to our server to be checked against the correct answer, and a response (correct/incorrect, next clue, etc.) is sent back. We do not log, store, or retain individual guesses.

If you use the Suggestions/Feedback form, the information you type (your message, and an optional handle/name if you choose to provide one) is forwarded directly to a project email inbox via a transactional email service. We do not build a database of submissions, and we do not use this information for anything other than reading and responding to your feedback.

Cookies and advertising

As of this writing, Code 3 does not run analytics or advertising, and no advertising or analytics cookies are currently set. If that changes (for example, if we enable Google AdSense in the future), this policy will be updated first, and a cookie consent banner will be shown to visitors, allowing you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Declining will not prevent you from using the core features of the site.

Third-party services

We currently use the following third-party services as part of running this site:

If advertising (such as Google AdSense) or analytics tools are added in the future, they will be listed here along with links to their respective privacy policies before they go live.

Children's privacy

Code 3 is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If our data practices change, this page will be updated to reflect that accurately. Significant changes (like enabling ads or analytics) will be called out clearly rather than buried in fine print.
